DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to:
General Responsibilities
Ensure that the depot is running efficiently within the allocated budget / cost structure and quality parameters ensuring container production line utilisation is planned at a maximum.
Management of Operations, Workshop, Reefer and Yard Supervisors and their respective team.
Maintaining and managing customer relationships and new business growth.
Manage and contain manpower costs – ensuring maintenance of acceptable work standards and discipline.
Manage and support SHEQ initiatives and objectives.
Maintain and ensure compliance to these as well as Safety Procedures.
Manage all activities within the operations process, including maintenance and the workforce.
Inventory control, managing stock levels and procurement of materials (selecting, ordering, and purchasing materials).
Responsible for WIP turnaround and limits.
Create and implement organisational / operational changes on an operative level.
Maintain skills matrix for operational employees indicating skill requirements and certification.
Investigate root causes of container / operational inefficiencies, quality deviations/issues and the implementation of corrective action.
Monitor and present operation performance KPI’s daily as well as daily activity reports.
Maintain necessary record and documentation as required and fulfil all reporting requirements.
Work closely with Finance to ensure effective Debtors, Creditors and Budget management.
Conduct regular housekeeping inspections to ensure a high level of neatness, cleanliness and tidiness is maintained.
REQUIREMENTS

Qualification:
Operations or Logistics Management qualification.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience at supervisory / management level.
Ability to run a production line with set quality outcomes and performance targets.
Experience in a Reefer production environment will be advantageous.
Required Skills:
Team player.
Excellent communication and computer literacy skills.
Good people management skills.
Ability to Identify problems and implement preventative strategies to minimise risk.
Ability to develop good working relationships and trust with various teams.
Strong problem-solving skills, analytic ability and be very detail oriented.
Ability to Work well with different departments and external customers and suppliers.
Results and deadline driven.
Good understanding of financial accounts in order to manage debtors / creditors.
Computer literacy – MS Office.
Able to travel as and when required.
Valid driver’s license essential.
