DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to:

• Assist with routine servicing, fault finding, and minor repairs on reefer units

• Conduct temperature checks, inspections, and basic diagnostics

• Support senior technicians during repairs and breakdowns

• Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately

• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards

• Maintain good housekeeping in the workshop and work areas

• Carry out authorised repairs, major / minor mechanical damages

• Ensure that a PTI is run in accordance with customer requirements to ensure all mechanical components are in working order.

• Ensure that mechanical callouts are done as per standard operating procedures

• Ensure that all repair activities are done in compliance with the OHS Act

• Ensure that completed Jobs are QC passed prior to sign-off

REQUIREMENTS

Qualification/s:

• Matric

• Basic qualification or training in refrigeration, electrical, or mechanical fields

• Valid driver’s licence

Experience:

• 1–3 years’ experience working with reefer units or refrigeration equipment

Required skills:

• Ability to work under pressure and respond to breakdowns

• Willingness to work shifts, standby, or overtime when required

• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
